Frantic

What a frantic week trying to keep up with everything in the run-up to Christmas. I have all sorts of blogs that need to be written, but no time to write them at the moment.

So I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for the Safer & Stronger Overview & Scrutiny meeting report (I know, I know, the suspense is killing you.. ) and also to cover all the interesting things that keep cropping up.

But I do feel the need to say that sending Nick Clegg to tell the French off for their unfortunate remarks is like sending Upsy-Daisy to admonish the Tombliboos.

Spent all afternoon delivering Christmas newsletters and also a flyer for my Councillor Surgery tomorrow in Newton.

Christmas is coming. Busy, busy.

    Time what’s that?
There never seems to be much of it around and yet so much seems to pass us by.

I do have to take issue with your comment re Clegg.
What has Upsy Daisy done to deserve such a comparison? Is he more interested in hugging those who act more like enemies and opponents than friends and partners? Is Upsy, expecting to get a nice little personal payday from the Tombliboos in the future? Is Upsy more interested in doing what the Tombliboo leaders want than what his own people want? Does Upsy patronisingly keep telling people that doing what the Tombiboos say is good for everyone, regardless of the evidence people see or any factual argument to support the claim?

Or perhaps you’re referring to Clegg’s uncomfortable body language in the HoC; which often seems akin to a small child with ADHD; perhaps both he and Upsy do have similar issues paying attention and understanding complex and weighty issues. Maybe Clegg could be helped by being excused such a boisterous, disquieting environment and having someone explain things to him in simpler terms in a nice quiet room (but maybe that’s how Miriam reminds him of his duty to the EU and pulls him back into line when he get’s carried away and almost supports a rational course of action).

    I think you’re over-thinking it, Ian. Smile

I would have thought sending your Deputy PM to tick off your PM counter-part was quite an insult.

It’s also worthwhile noting that no-one rises to be leader of a major (I know I know) political party without having a degree of toughness about them, even IDS and Milliband.

Upsy-Daisy is quite tough, too. I’m sure of it.
